Welcome… I'd like to welcome you to the website of the Northern Nevada Football Officials Association. Currently, our association consists of more than 80 dedicated members who officiate high school football games throughout Northern Nevada and California's Lake Tahoe region. Specifically, the NNFOA services institutions by assigning officials to freshman, junior varsity and varsity football games. We also supply officials for fall scrimmages upon request. Additionally, we provide rule interpretations to coaches and athletic administrative staff throughout the football season. Members of our association come from a diverse array of backgrounds, including business owners, educational administrators, engineers, financial consultants, managers, attorneys and teachers. What we all have in common is a passion for the game of football and a desire to support local amateur athletics. Furthermore, our members possess a wide range of football experience. Many have been officiating football games in this area for over 10 years, and a select few have been offering their services locally for almost four decades. Several members also officiate youth- and collegiate-level games as well. Our Mission… The mission of the NNFOA is to provide the highest standard of football officiating to local and regional high schools. Our association is committed to the education, training and professional development of our members to ensure player safety and to uphold the integrity and spirit of the game through consistent and impartial rules enforcement, numerous study groups, clinics and on-field training programs. We encourage those with an interest in football officiating to join our association. We offer an intensive training and mentoring program that allows first-year officials to immediately begin officiating sub-varsity games with the support of experienced officials.
