The Executive Board is pleased to announce that the 2011
Northern Nevada Football Officials Association annual
clinic will be held at the Tahoe Biltmore Hotel and
Resort in Crystal Bay, Nevada on Saturday, August 5th and Sunday,
August 6th. Registration/Check-in begins at 8 a.m. and the
scheduled sessions start promptly at 9 a.m. As always, a
wide range of important topics will be covered, from field position
break-out sessions to in-depth rules discussion and film study.
This year, the board has made several significant changes to the clinic format as well as the
overall NNFOA preseason schedule. In 2011, the certification test will be conducted during the clinic
on Saturday morning. The idea behind this change is hopefully increase test scores by
encouraging officials to begin their study efforts in advance rather than cramming for two weeks between
the clinic and the test date. Due to this change, all crew chiefs, executive board members and other
veterans will be holding several study sessions prior to the clinic. All preseason rules and study
material will be distributed at the preseason social at the Little Wal on Wednesday, June 22nd.
Cost is $95 ($85 if paid by May 31st, 2011) which includes all rulebooks, clinic materials
as well as breakfast both days, lunch, and dinner on Saturday night
.
Please remember that attendance is mandatory at both days of the clinic
for all returning officials unless prior board approval has been received. Information presented at our annual clinic is
critical to the continued success of our association. Anyone who is unable to attend this
clinic will be required to attend a board-approved high-school only clinic or they
will not be assigned during the 1st assignment period and will not
receive Playoff assignments.
As always, for those who would like start the festivities a day early, Dale
Keller is coordinating golf and dinner on Friday, August 4th at the Incline Mountain Golf Course.
There is limited availability so be sure to RSVP with Keller by downloading
and completing the "Golf" form below and mailing it to the address listed. Anyone planning on
golfing Friday is advised to follow up with Dale to ensure that their RSVP has been received.
Tee times begin at 12:30pm and dinner at 6:30pm at Hacienda De La Sierra in Incline Village.
Cost for lodging is approximately $60/night for a private room or $30 if shared with a roommate and will be paid on site directly to the Biltmore. Reservations must be made by June 25th.
